Why the Danes were so angry about TV drama 1864

TV and director Ole Bornedal explained to the Radio Times:

...

“The right wing said we were rewriting history. They thought it was an attack on them. The Danes, like the British, feel we are the best…

“But one nation is not better than another. The Brits are not God’s chosen, King Arthur’s people. A certain kind of humility would be suitable for both the Brits and the Danes. Stating that there are a lot of ‘the best’ out there provoked people more than I expected.”

Viewers also objected to a scene where a couple had sex on a beach, and another where drunken aristocrats forced themselves on a cow.

But one nation is not better than another

I can't speak for all of it, but this part is utter crappolla. Do I really need to make comparisons?

Just my opinion: This director is a stinking Pinko.

The director says that he was “just showing life as it is”. It appears that he believes that bestiality is normal and common.

Maybe bestiality is common in his circle of friends. If it is, it shows that his circle of friends is not as good as the rest of the nation of Denmark and that Denmark is probably not as good as many other nations.

I didn’t know about this conflict between Denmark and Prussia.

But, then, again, in 1864, my own country was rather busy!

So is where the line, “Something is rotten in the state of Denmark.” came from?

I had to look it up to find it is actually from

Shakespeare’s Hamlet

People in the movies and TV generally hate beloved heroes. Remember that horrible mutation and box office disaster, the remake of The Alamo? The movie people just felt compelled to “humanize, tear down and piss on” beloved historical characters.

And to no great surprise, they resented the public not appreciating their brilliant vision. Production budget $107m, worldwide box office $25.8m. A stinker from Stinkersville.

Yet the movie and TV types cannot resist doing crap like this. Remember how the lefties cranked out lots of anti-Iraq war, anti-US military movies that just died in the box office? But they couldn’t help themselves.

My wife’s relatives had one guy who went off for Nassau (what is Hessen today) and participate in the little war. There’s a medal handed down from the generations...just for participation.

It’s a war mostly over acquiring some property along the border, and setting up what will be a second brief conflict with Austria a year or two later....to take Nassau and the property of Austria which related to the Danes and this 1864 war.

Lol. I was wondering why there were gratuitous swipes at the British in article about Danish television.. then I say the publication’s name:
“Irish Examiner!” — tell me what the bottom of the bottle looks like!

...gratuitous swipes...

Jealous that THE "Danish Play" was written by an Briton?

I've seen a British sitcom once poke fun at some really old conflict between the two.

Perhaps the 1801 British sneak attack on the Danish fleet?

I’ve seen some great Danes.

But I’ve seen some cheesy Danish too.
