BOSTON – As the fallout from the Wells Report continues, Attorney General Maura Healey said the NFL should focus its attention on solving the crisis of sexual assault and domestic violence among players.

The Wells Report, commissioned by the NFL after allegations the New England Patriots cheated in last season's AFC Championship Game, found it was "more probable than not" that quarterback Tom Brady knew a team employee deflated footballs in violation of the rules to try to gain an advantage.

Why is she commenting on this matter? How about the protection of the unborn from women who opt to kill? EBT card misuse? Illegals?

So the league should focus exclusively on issues far from the field that they really have little business getting involved with. They should ignore actual cheating that affects the game. I see.

That logic makes perfect sense coming from a northeastern politIcian.

The fact that adult Americans, even self identified Conservatives can be drawn into and obsessed with this football nonsense says a lot about the absolute devolution of our Republic. And what it says is both sad and scary.

Right. That sounds completely bizarre. A state attorney general who has the authority to prosecute crimes is calling on an entertainment industry with no prosecutorial authority to "fix" a criminal problem.

Without even reading the details of this story I knew this had to come from the AG in Massachusetts. That entire state government probably has a collective IQ of about 500.

The NFL should focus on its’ football operations and ensuring a level playing field for participants. The recent incursions into political matters have resulted in double punishment for players (who on average have a brief playing career and few skills for life after football) and severe penalties to team franchises and their respective communities. Continue the training programs on abuse, money management, etc., but stop the punitive actions that ruin lives and cause financial ruin for individuals and those dependent on them.

Baloney.

The State of Massachusetts has never been able to deal with the sexual assault and domestic violence problem in its own royal family (also known as the Kennedy clan).

This lunatic AG is more concerned about the four-game suspension of a player on the New England Patriots than anything related to "sexual assault and domestic violence" among NFL players.

:: few skills for life after football)...Continue the training programs on abuse, money management, etc. ::

Sounds like a good gig for a retired special teams / practice team player with a sociology degree.

I submit that the highest priority for the NFL should be the integrity of the game, sportsmanship, and whether the rules of the game are respected and that the game is honest (the Patriots Tom Brady).
Issues of personal morality and law-breaking off the field I should think, are most appropriately addressed by the legal system (the Ravens Ray Rice domestic violence, the Patriots Aaron Hernandez murder).

A non-governmental entity should focus on criminal matters, not on enforcing its internal rules - at least while HER team is affected!

She gave a talk to the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce. She was asked about it during the Q&A period after her prepared stuff.

The National FOOTBALL League, should focus solely on FOOTBALL! This is actually the reason the league has been formed. In case anyone was wondering.

well I agree about the Kennedys

I also think the NFL is nuts, there is no proof Brady did anything.
