The family car was a 1982 Pontiac LeMans when I was in my teens. The back-door windows didn't roll down; each one had a small vent window. The car didn't have A/C, and those two little windows did a pretty good job of creating a cooling breeze even on hot days. But they were noisy, and if we were on vacation and driving cross-country for 8-10 hours in a day, it really got on my nerves.

My car didn’t have AC, neither did our house. Built in 1880s it had no AC and no heat. I was told that the kitchen was added on many years after the house was built.
