You may not like the ruling, but Goodell isn't going to "get his ass handed to him" under any circumstances. The NFL's bylaws and the collective bargaining agreement with the NFLPA give the commissioner a lot of latitude in disciplinary measures.

Interestingly, I don't think this ruling even came from the commissioner directly, but from the league's disciplinary office.

As much as I don’t like Brady, it’s jerks like Goodell who actually make Brady look sympathetic. I hope this gets jammed up Goodell’s rectum on appeal. Job 1 for the competition committee: dump this stupid rule.

Suspension and losing a first round draft pick is pure BS.
The report had not one shred of evidence on Brady and he was and tarred and feathered by the running-scared Goodell. The punter for the Giants was just on Greta on Fox News and keeping saying Brady was suspended because he “lied and tried to cover his tracks”? What report did this goofy SOB read?
