Popular Christian singer Amy Grant is pro-life on the issue of abortion, but she recently announced she is teaming up with one of the most pro-abortion foundations that shuttled millions towards abortions and abortion businesses.
In an opinion column on Fox News web site, Grant announced she is partnering with the Gates Foundation to push birth control and contraception in impoverished nations. Grant said she hosted pro-abortion Melinda Gates recently at a Christian event in Nashville, Tennessee to discuss their partnership.

Non-denominational Evangelicals, last time I checked, had no doctrine whatsoever on birth control.
Christian and OK with abortion? Not a Christian, then. It doesn’t matter how much a so-called Christian attempts to rationalize it. Every human life is sacred because they belong to our Creator. Abortion is a sacrifice to the World. Christians are not of this World.
How do you check the doctrine for Non-denominational Evangelicals?
I’m as disgusted as you are that she has anything to do with the Gates Foundation. I despise their elitist pro-death agenda—and not just because of abortion. That said, are you sure the Amy Grant in the Austin story is the same Amy Grant? Amy isn’t an Austin native. I don’t know where she was born, but she is from an old wealthy Nashville family. She went to both high school and college (Vandy) in Nashville. As an adult she has been married to two country singers who live around Nashville and she’s part of Nashville’s CCM business.
Life is full of choices - sometimes between money and power or moral values. Guess what? Weaker individuals usually take the money and power over moral values. Some will even sell their souls to the devil. Could it be these are the ‘anti-Christs’ and money is the mark of the beast?
The love of money is truly the root of all evil. Follow the money...
LOL, that's a very good question.
In my case, by being one for 20 years.
I’m guessing that there’s more than one Amy Grant in the U.S. Did you verify that it was her? If not what you’ve suggested is irresponsible and amounts to slander. She lives in Nashville not Austin.
Read the Bible.
It is silent on contraception.
Then, how does one explain how many denominational (including Catholics) Evangelicals also support abortion as a right?
Keep the memes real - I'm non-denominational and rabidly against abortion on purely Biblical grounds as is my pastor. Being a member, or even a leader, in denominational religions doesn't mean one takes the Bible/Canons/Tenets to heart no matter how much one would want to believe differently.
"Keep memes real"? Is that a commandment?
What about murder?
Yet you automatically ascribe an affinity for being pro-abortion to non-denominational because one falls under the parameter. At the same time, you ignore the fact that even religions, such as Catholicism, have many pro-aborts as members - probably receiving Communion with the rest.
The only relevant commandment appears in the New Covenant:
36 Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?
37 Jesus replied: Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.[a] 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself.[b] 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.
Unless you want to call Jesus a liar/charlatan - you aren't doing that....are you?
If you want to defend indefensible statements, be real about it - not a commandment, just a bit of advice if you want your assertions to seem relevant and reasoned.
Austin will do that to a person.
Seems her music career started there. http://www.encyclopedia.com/topic/Amy_Grant.aspx
It is the same Amy Grant.
And you’d be surprised how many of those country stars we call great, have feet of clay. It’s not just her or McGraw or Paisley. Most of this new generation don’t really know GOD. They sure don’t thank HIM like the old timers did for their talents. To scared of the PC police.
Contraception in most forms is not murder
Who exactly are the “evangelicals”? I understand they tend to vote pro-life the most of all denominations.
Point taken. Contraception is what this thread is about.
I think the article would elaborate a little more if it was indeed singer Amy Grant. I think the one in the article is just a local.
