Popular Christian singer Amy Grant is pro-life on the issue of abortion, but she recently announced she is teaming up with one of the most pro-abortion foundations that shuttled millions towards abortions and abortion businesses.

In an opinion column on Fox News’ web site, Grant announced she is partnering with the Gates Foundation to push birth control and contraception in impoverished nations. Grant said she hosted pro-abortion Melinda Gates recently at a Christian event in Nashville, Tennessee to discuss their partnership.

1. No it isn’t.

2. The bible isn’t the last word on how we should live. And says so, explicitly.

3. How do you know the bible is from God?

pro-abortion Melinda Gates

Must be a product of that Catholic education that she got.

Grant said she hosted pro-abortion Melinda Gates recently at a Christian event

Must need another 15 minutes in the spotlight. Her career hasn't been booming since her divorce and rather quick re-marriage.

It is gravely sinful. We have contracepting heteros to thank for the incipient legalization of same sex “marriage” in this country. The departure from Catholic teaching on marriage is going to render all forms of Christianity illegal.

She sold out years ago. Divorce. Drug use. Emotion over theology. This is just one more thing. Christian is merely a market share to some people.

Maybe it is the same Amy Grant, but I don’t believe it is. I know for sure you haven’t substantiated it. I have a hard time believing a paper in Austin wouldn’t have trumpeted the fact that a big-time Christian singer had joined the pro-death forces. It would have been national news.

I know several big name CCM performers and a couple of executives, so I know quite about feet of clay. I’m not a big fan of their music for a variety of reasons, but I know some wonderful people in that world. I have a hard-time believing it wouldn’t have been huge news in Christian circles if it were known that Amy Grant admitted to having an abortion and marched for abortion. The reaction would have been similar to the reaction against the Dixie Chicks.

A lot has changed in 12 years. I'm thinking The Dixie Chicks wouldn't have met the same firestorm today.

"3. How do you know the bible is from God?"

Is this a serious question? Who do you think it's from?

"Bible" is capitalized, BTW.

Well maybe this will help you grasp that it is in fact the same Amy Grant, which you could have figured out with 10 seconds of google searching.

Amy is quoted in the article.

We are disputing it was THAT Amy Grant in Austin, not the one with Gates.

The Amy Grant referenced in Austin as having an abortion is not the same Amy Grant that is the former christian singer and has partnered with Gates.

The singer Grant is claiming it is about contraception and is still staunchly pro life and has never had an abortion or marched in pro abortion rallies. Her partnership with Gates, however, is questionable.

So do I. And yes, I’ve seen yours.

I just wonder why you’re questioning others.

Perhaps you can’t read. The article you linked plainly says she is pro-life, yet it is has been suggested herein that she is pro-choice, had an abortion herself, and marched in a choice rally. I believe in biblical separation. I don’t think Christians should be yoked to the world in such endeavors, so I think she is foolish to have anything to do with Bill and Melinda Gates. However, that in no way means she is pro-choice. I’m not much of a fan of either Amy Grant or the lion’s share of contemporary Christian artists, but I don’t want to see someone who purports to be a Christian unfairly tarnished. If she is pro-choice and has had an abortion, I suppose she deserves what she gets, but I still doubt that is true.

I agree with you that the article is not referring to famous Amy Grant (even though the Austin paper oddly links to the Christian singer).

That said, I was appalled by the real Grant’s tacky little speech when she was honored with a footprint at the Hollywood Walk of Fame. She referred rather crudely to her, shall we say, “chest” blowing in the wind like that of a figurine at the front of a boat. Methinks the gal has been in show business too long.

No, it’s not true. The Amy Grant from Austin, TX, is a Travis County Democrat activist, as the article quoted distinguished her as an Austin native. The singer is a Nashville area native.

How do you know the bible is from God?

How did Jews prior to Christ know that the Hebrew Scriptures were from God?

Cordially,

Austin natives Amy Grant and Paul Zepecki, who support abortion rights, marched proudly through downtown wearing vibrant orange.

IMO Amy Grant hasn't been (or even billed herself as) a "Christian singer" since she left her first husband to marry Vince Gill.
