A new study suggests the measles shot comes with a bonus: By preventing that disease, the vaccine may also help your body fight off other illnesses for years.
It's long been known that contracting measles weakens the immune system for weeks or months, putting people, especially children, at increased risk for potentially fatal infection by a host of germs.
Now, scientists find that this vulnerable period goes on much longer than thought, up to three years. So the benefit of avoiding measles also extends longer than was appreciated. Researchers also found that measles vaccination campaigns were followed by a drop in deaths for other infectious diseases.
Experts said the work is a wake-up call to parents who don't vaccinate their children out of unfounded fears about a link between vaccines and autism.
"The message is clear," said Dr. Richard Wenzel, an infectious disease specialist at Virginia Commonwealth University who was not involved in the study. Not only is the vaccine safe and effective against measles, he said, but it may also save a child's life by helping to guard against other infections.
Debate about the measles vaccine came into focus this year after a large outbreak tied to Disneyland sickened 147 people in the U.S., including 131 in California. Infections also spread to Mexico and Canada where 159 people fell ill in Quebec. Many stricken with measles were not immunized because of personal reasons or their age.

Depends what you consider enhanced. You will have lifelong immunity, or most people will, there’s always the odd person that won’t develop any immunity. I don’t think anyone is really sure how long immunity from vaccines last. They used to say it was lifelong, but are discovering that is not true, which is one reason that we went from needing only one MMR to now needing two and possibly a booster as we get older.

But as for infallibility, you know the term "vaccine" describes a delivery mechanism, right? And that every single "vaccine" is completely different from every other one? Kind of like the term "gassing."
So tell me, are you for, or against, gassing?
The dirty little secret about that Italian court is that part of the “testimony” they used was from that now discredited paper that has since been retracted by Dr. Wakefield.

When your body fights off a disease, you’re left with antibodies to help you fight off further instances of that infection.
An antibody is a y-shaped protein. At the end of the two top ‘prongs’ of the Y there are things called paratopes. These paratopes can be different shapes. The shape of the paratope acts like a key, which will fit into a lock. The lock is a specific molecule of whatever infectious agent (a bacterium or virus for example) the antibody will help fight.
Antibodies find these bacteria and viruses and ‘tag’ them with their paratopes. Once they are tagged, other parts of the immune system kick in to fight off the infection.
So yes, in a way fighting off the infection gives you an ‘advanced’ immune system.
The way vaccines work is they cause your body to produce these antibodies without making you sick with the illness.

Having had the measles, I can tell you that it didn't "protect" me from having the chicken pox six months later.

Are YOU vaccinated ?
Are you old enough to have not been vaccinated against measles, mumps, chicken pox, and polio ?
If you are one of those who erroneously believes that vaccinations cause autism, then please explain WHY and HOW there were so many autistic kids PRIOR to the new vaccinations.
"Vaccine" has a number of meanings. As a matter of fact, it has as many different meanings as the number of different things that can be put into the vaccine, multiplied by the age and condition of the person being injected with it.
Same with gassing. Gassing means making available for inhalation a substance or substances which have been gassified. The actual mechanism is identical in each case, while the number of substances which can be gassified, multiplied by the age and conditions of the people who are made to breathe said gasses, is exceedingly numerous and varied - just like "vaccines."
What's not to understand?
