20 years for manslaughter is a stiff dose of prison.
A fellow from my high school class was involved in a fight outside of a local bar many years ago. The other guy died of stab wounds. My classmate did 4 years and three months of an eight year sentence.

He was previously captured in 1975 but West Virginia apparently felt it was not worth the effort to send him back.

Due to the extreme hassle and expense of driving him over the I-70 bridge and all

Sounds like an old Paul Muni film of the 30’s. I guess this could be made into a movie, to entertain us during our current depression.

The older picture reminds me of someone but I just can’t put my finger on who.

Me too. I think he's broken into my house every winter to steal milk and cookies.

umm... grats?

meanwhile, how many MILLIONS of criminals have come across the southern border in the last 6 years?

ONE 79 yr old fugitive versus 6+ MILLION illegals

looks like my tax money is being spent to pay govt salaries, not protect the security of the nation

Now matter what you might think of this guy, you’ve got to give him credit for avoiding the authorities for so long.

I think he could teach us a lesson or two on anonymity which might be useful in the near future as totalitarianism darkens the nation.

Sorry,he was sentenced to one to 20. Not sure of the final sentence. Looking around. Not sure what the mean by vehicular homicide either? Whether he intentionally or accidently ran someone over?

“Freshwaters pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter and was sentenced to 1 to 20 years in prison, however, his SENTENCE was SUSPENDED and he was GIVEN PROBATION for five years. “

He skipped out of his probation??? That’s why they picked him up after 56 years???

Freshwaters served time at the Ohio State Reformatory in Mansfield

Shawshank Redemption was filmed there.

No. He violated probation. (not sure how) He was given an additional sentence. Then he escaped.

That’s usually code for drunk driving/killing someone.
