I like him a lot too. He has excellent early speed. Even more impressive to me, though, is how he pulls away at the end after leading all the way. That was the running style of the late great filly Ruffian. Not seriously comparing him to her talent wise. One problem is favorites don’t often do too well in the Derby, at least in terms of winning. He could pay $5.00 or more to show, given the large 20-horse field. That’s $500 back for a $200 show bet. Hard to imagine him not running at least 3rd.
I wrote here yesterday:

He wound up paying $4-something to show. So a $200 show bet would have returned $400-something. Not bad. I, initially, weeks ago, wanted to wager $2000 to show on someone. Most likely would have been AP.
