The Dolphins used the third pick of the 2013 draft, after trading up, on this guy. I remember lots of draft experts were scratching their heads when the GM made this move.

Jordan almost killed himself siphoning gas with a vacuum cleaner while in high school. Real dim bulb.

I had to go look it up: hehe

First round NFL draft pick Dion Jordan set himself on fire in high school

While a senior in high school, Jordan had a horrific accident which could have cost his life. Jordan was watching a friend as he tried to siphon gas from a car while using a vacuum cleaner. When the friend finished, Jordan walked over to the vacuum to turn it off. When he flipped the vacuum’s “off” switch, it released a spark, spreading flames onto Jordan.

As far as I can tell, the issues were his ability to play DE and durability - drug use is a new wrinkle.

Wow— another moron forfeiting his lucrative career in the NFL by his own illegal habits. Such a rare occurrence. /sc

I feels you is writin’ off young Dion far too soon. Surely such a promising young fellow deserves another shot at the coveted Darwin Award.

Maybe, Just maybe a influential NFL veteran can step in and provide the rookie some tips on how to avoid trouble.

Like Aaron Hernandez or Ray Lewis...

You know, Area 51, you have given me a whole new career idea.

As a kid working for my Uncle Hub over to the garage, my chief duty in the summer was to bike over to courthouse bright very early every Monday morning and cash bail out our dedicated and highly trained staff of heavy equipment mechanics as their wives waited to drive them home for bath and coffee before our 8:30 start time.

As a result, there are some guys still living in that town who could work another 25 years in order to pay Uncle Hub the money they owe for bail.

I digress: I could perhaps do the same for the NFL! They need a guy to unobtrusively and diplomatically bail out the team every Sunday!
