The BMI is an ultra simplified metric that was designed to track health trends in populations. It’s basically a statistical tool. It was never intended to be meaningful when applied to individuals.
Great point, but now it's thrown about everywhere as "The standard" by which people are being judged for overall fitness.
Between that and the BS about cholesterol all these years, it's hard to take any scale seriously without major scrutiny.
