When it comes to negotiating power, it’s better to be a home seller in the Bay Area and a buyer in Philadelphia. Zillow’s spring analysis of buyers’ and sellers’ markets across the U.S. looked at how long homes spend on the market, how likely they are to have had a price cut and how much they sold for in relation to their listing price. The nation’s top sellers’ markets are the big West Coast tech centers in San Jose, San Francisco and Seattle. Less competitive markets where buyers have time to negotiate are in the East and Midwest, including Philadelphia, Chicago and Cleveland. The rankings are being released as home values are leveling off across the country, according to Zillow’s first quarter market reports. The Zillow Home Value Index (ZHVI) was up 3.9 percent from same time last year, and rents are up 3.7 percent. You can see the full breakdown on top buyers’ and sellers’ markets below. I moved to central KY from Seattle in 2011. I bought my place in 2008. The price on a new home an 12 spectacular acres was less than a year’s wages. And my annual real estate taxes are less than the MONTHLY real estate taxes on my friend’s one acre in Maple Valley, WA.
And we LOVE the climate.
I’m glad for you. That sounds awesome!!
But she won’t leave while her mother is alive and like I said, I’ve never been any good at that kind of thing... :)
If she’s not going to follow her fiance, how is she going to follow her husband?
Don’t have a good answer. I’ll weasel out by saying jobs are here too and my mother also.
Pray about it my FRiend. You’re not married yet.
Thanks for the advice.
You’re welcome. I’ll pray for you too. :)
KY is a great state. Love the area around Louisville and Lexington. I live in SC but moved from Pittsburgh. Couldn’t be happier.
North Dakota fell short again, doggone it.
Must be #11 or so.
Oh boy #6!!!
Congrats and ha—you’re not the only one who doesn’t really consider SI to be part of NYC!
lol I didn’t realize my misstatement. It’s so different than the others. So conservative and nice to live. Like working in Manhattan but don’t want to live there.
Remember when black congresswoman said there should never be an intra borough bridge toll. Then she was told about the Verrazano and said that was ok.
Another Bronx congresswoman disparaged a Spanish congresswoman. When she was called out on it, she said she thought the last name was Italian lol
It is so different—kind of halfway NJ.
Let me guess: cop or fireman?
Staten Italy voted for Obama an is filled with government employees who simply want to avoid what they call “animals.” BTW: If Latin Americans are Spanish, are you “English?”
RE: North Dakota fell short again, doggone it.
Energy prices might have affected real estate prices.
