No........
And Tebow is such a great QB that he hasn’t been in the league since 2012, whereas Romo just helped his team win the division and a playoff game. Romo also had the highest completion % and QBR rating in the league last year while Tebow was announcing college pregames for ESPN SEC. The hate for Tony Romo is always laughable.

Since the NFL went to 32 teams, there have been a lot of QBs playing that never would have played back when the NFL was 24 teams. Speaking of which, when I started watching the NFL back in 1972 - 24 teams - there as a leftie for the Bears named Bobby Douglas. Played a few years and was possibly the worst QB I ever saw during my time of watching the NFL.
Thank you for making my point. While sports fans and the media place the blame for a loss on the shoulders of the QB, in truth, it is not always the QB’s fault.
Tebow took a failing team (1-4) to the 2nd round of the play offs. That is better in my opinion that what most quarter backs can do. The Broncos made a HUGE error by letting Tebow go. They should have kept him and let him understudy to Manning and played him during games that they were already well ahead.
“worst quarterback ever”...
Chuck Long, Detroit Lions
The last person I look to for information on any Quarterbacks ability is a journeyman kicker.. Just sayin..........
Tebow's Broncos career:
2010 = 9 games, 5 TDs, 72.7 YDS/GAME, 50% COMP %
2011 = 14 games, 12 TDs, 123.5 YDS/GAME, 46.5% COMP %
^^ Those are horrible stats ^^
There must be a few who’ve never made the playoffs....
Tebow isn’t the worst quarterback ever now, but now that he’s with the Eagles, he will be in time. The Eagles have a way of bringing out the disappointing worst in most players.
I think the problem with Tebow isn’t necessarily his skills. Rather it is the style of quarterback he is. (this is not a knock against Tim Tebow, by the way)
Tim Tebow, to be successful, really needs to work out of a run option style offence.
However, the NFL is wedded to a drop back passing game where the QB hands off or throws.
Quarterbacks get hurt in the NFL. If your starting QB is run option style and your backup QB is a classic drop back QB, that means coaches have to have two different styles of offense installed, which isn’t practical.
You’ve got a lot of factors working against a Tim Tebow.
One: Coaches lack imagination
Two: Scouting departments lack imagination
Three: Owners lack imagination
If a Tim Tebow is going to be the starting QB, then your backup QB needs to be cut from the same cloth.
I don’t see any coaches or teams innovative enough or gutsy enough to take a chance on building the kind of offense a run option QB will be successful in.
Heck, I don’t even know if the run option would be successful in the NFL.
Tim is built like a linebacker, standing 6 foot 3 inches and weighing 240 pounds, and yet, he can run the 40-yard dash in 4.7 seconds
At least half the linebackers in the league run a 4.7 or better.
That’s the reason for more and more severe injuries - kinetic energy.
These big guys are faster and faster.
Yes, but Romo has been given chance after chance to show what he has. As a Tebow fan I'd like to see how Tim does if he were given the same opportunity.
ex eagle qb
Yep... I agree.
Not because of Tebow, but in spite of him. His stats, specifically his completion % is horrible.
Did you watch any of his games with Denver? Numerous passes landing yards/feet in front of receivers. Or thrown behind receivers. That is, when the passes weren’t sailing feet over their heads.
...
Yet, in spite of that he has more TD’s than interceptions, and I repeat, a winning record. (There QB’s in the HOF with mediocre completion percentages.) If you count his rushing TD’s, which you probably don’t, that’s just icing on the cake.
yes he threw ducks
I am of the opinion that the reason Tebow / Broncos were able to turn a lousy start into a winning season is because the NFL defense is all about stopping the pass. I believe the option game would force the defense to hesitate that additional second and allow the office to gain one or two more yards on average. It is all about exploiting your opponents weakness.
