After the Boxing Day 2004 Indonesian quake and tsunami that killed over 240,000 people, I recall reading stories from tourists in Thailand who said that, days before the disaster struck, dogs, cats, rats, even elephants were scamping off to higher ground. That should have been the clue to follow them!
I read that on an island in the Indian Ocean, where the people were very “backward” and primitive, they observed the animals and all moved to high ground, and no one died.
