The keys to a meaningful life. Thats what Oprah Winfrey was asked to give hundreds of students and faculty at Stanford University on Monday night.
Winfrey was welcomed into the Stanford Memorial Church with a standing ovation. She started by sharing stories of her upbringing and faith.
I knew how to pay attention. I was a great observer of life, and I grew up believing that I was indeed for sure, God's child, she said.
Oprah spoke about what she finds important in life: choosing love over fear, becoming self-aware, and if you ever lose sight of your goals or need to be grounded, be grateful for every breath you have.
Oprah also spoke about her legendary talk show where she interviewed newsmakers and everyday people for decades. She says hearing peoples stories changed her life.
I am one who believes in the sharing of stories, I believe in the process of sharing period, because I know all of life gets better when you share it, she said. Thousands of people who have been guests on the show and who have also been audience members have been my greatest teachers."
Students we talked with were inspired by her message.
She connects with everybody in the audience. She singles out each person as if she's just talking to them, said Stanford Freshman Emma Sanderson.
[Oprah said] that you have to find what you're passionate about and what makes you feel like you want to get up in the morning and do things, said Stanford Junior Martine Madill.
She was invited by Stanford for the 6th annual event to honor late law professor Harry Rathbun.
Rathbun used to give his renowned Last Lecture to students at the university every spring from 1929 to 1959. Now, influential people are invited to speak in his honor. Past speakers include the Dalai Lama, and Justice Sandra Day O'Connor.
Calling for the death of an entire generation of white people is the key to happiness. Making movies to remind people of how bad blacks had it and how anyone with pale skin is evil is the key to happiness.
Having the daughters of the people you want to die adore you and make you rich is the key to happiness
First, convince the racist white people to pretend to enjoy you as a person and for your work, enough to make you worth 3 billion dollars.
Bingo.
We went from ruthless..the Roman Empire, British Empire...to this? how?
Creating a school in South Africa for pedophiles to run amock among the young is Oprah’s kind of “happiness”.
As long as people can be judged by the color of their skin, the problem is not solved, she said, adding,There are still generations of people, older people, who were born and bred and marinated in it in that prejudice and racism and they just have to die. (from a recent interview.)
Skin color is all Winfrey, the race-grievance industry, and the Obama-Holder Dept. of Just Us and Our People talk about.. yet they feeeeeeeeeeeeel that only white people can be racist; so Winfrey has the loving, unbiased solution to solve the "white" problem.
I wonder if she said anything like that and did the university employees and students cheer.
1. Join a black supremist “church” and...
2. Immediately prior to each of your film road-shows you suffer ego-crushing racist incidents in top-tier luxury goods boutiques in high-end countries in Europe.
I wonder if she is really happy? She’s always looking for the next fulfilling thing.
Getting Baraq elected was probably her ultimate thrill.
After that, everything else seems pretty mundane.
One thing I see time and time again is black women having to do all the heavy lifting for their men. I just don’t get that.
It’s cultural to an extent.
But also the Democrat War on Poverty beginning in the 60s incentivized existing families to break up and women with kids to stay single.
The illegitimacy rate is well past 70% and climbing.
I’m happy to stop looking at skin color. As soon as people like her let me.
