HEFEI—Here’s why it’s not wise to squat on a sitting toilet.

A man who went to the restroom while waiting for a flight at Hefei Xinqiao International Airport in Anhui, China, was injured when he attempted to squat on the toilet bowl.

Anhui News reported that his companion received a call for help and found the man lying on the floor, his buttocks bleeding and the toilet bowl crushed to pieces.

He was sent to hospital for treatment but reportedly managed to make it back to the airport to catch his flight.

According to a member of the airport’s staff, the man’s weight was too heavy for the toilet to bear and it broke.

I saw an experiment about what is nastiest in public restrooms, the toilets or the door handles. The door handles were nastier, by far. Very few microbes on the toilet seats themselves.
