I attended a Ted Cruz rally in Spartanburg, SC, and I recorded the whole thing on my iPhone - about 45 minutes.

I want to download it onto my computer. The problem is, it is still on the phone and I can view it, but it doesn't show up anywhere when I attempt to transfer it. I tried Picasa and some of the other solutions on the Internet, to no avail. I would really like to see this on my 27" computer monitor. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Good idea, but a
45 min video is a little large for e-mail

If you have a Mac, run Photos or iPhoto and use the import function.

"They" don't want you to download that video.
Please keep an eye out for black drones above your property.
You've been warned.

iPhone 5s with windows XP. I plug the phone into the computer via the usb. The phone then appears as a camera under my computer. At that point you can see the video and cut and paste the file.

Do you use Dropbox? You should be able to send it to there.

Upload it to a service such as dropbox. Then you or others can download.

My Wifey is an IPhoner. I am an androider

GO to windows explorer, have your phone attached to your windows Beastie. Refresh. You should be able to see it if cables are sounds .. Windows sees just about anything.

Steve Jobs didn’t ALLOW you to view an iPhone video on a Windows computer. Since he’s dead now, there’s no appeal.

I’m guessing that you have a Windows PC, and probably do not have iTunes installed...

The “old fashioned” way to do what you want is to plug the phone into your computer. Even without any special software, the phone will appear as an external hard drive.

There should be a directory named “DCIM”, and your photos and videos should be somewhere under that (on my iPhone, the directory containing the photos and videos is “DCIM\100APPLE”. Look for a file named something like “IMG_0123.MOV”. The higher the number, the more recent the file.

The file will be in Quicktime format. If you need help dealilng with that format, let us know and I or someone should be able to help.

Yes. A victim of parental wanderings.

But, I’m HOME now...

a directory named “DCIM”

Yes, but as I said, the file is not showing up there. I can still view it on the phone, but it doesn’t show up when I hook the phone to my computer. The DCIM folder is empty - on the computer.

Frustrating...

Make sure your iPhone is on and unlocked (i.e. you can see the icons for the various apps). Then plug it in to your computer. Hope that helps.
