I have read that, years ago, Stalin wanted the tallest building in the world to be in Moscow, so he ordered work to begin.
In excavating for the foundation, they found the soil would not take the load for a skyscraper, so the project was quietly scrapped and the hole covered, but not filled.
Don’t know if it is true or not.

Place a tall pole in the center with a small platform on it. Set an old large flat screen TV on it, a few other items like cheap wine, cell phones, then place a sign, lit only at night, over it. FREE STUFF!
When the zombies come for it they will fall in and be trapped. Then Chicago will again become a safe place again.

They should use it to dispose of coal ash, cover the top with dirt, and plant grass for a park.
They could then name it “President Obama Park”.
He’s the biggest ash hole I know of!

Great idea. Except the hole is only 76 feet deep.

How about making it into a rock climbing wall, with a park surrounding it?

An urban swimming hole... the water would appear yellowish, not aqua blue.

Throw old washers and dryers in it...that’s what they do with sink holes in KY.

Here is what the world's largest drill bit..............er, I mean Chicago Spire would have looked like.
$1 billion seems like it would have been pretty low budget for this size of building in the U.S.

I don’t know what to use it for, but has anyone looked in it for missing emails, or maybe a birth certificate and school records?

Fill it up with all the corrupt politicians. You will have to dig more holes but at least it is a start.
