It's the mistake that Hillary Clinton won't make again: ignoring her gender.
The low-key video she released on Sunday announcing her run for the White House is filled with women -- young, old, black, white, Asian and Latina -- working in their gardens, taking care of their kids and getting ready for life in the working world.
Clinton, who made herself the center of her campaign announcement in 2007, is barely in the video at all, appearing at the end as a kind of everywoman whose story and fight could be folded in with all the others.
"I'm getting ready to do something, too. I'm running for president," Clinton said in the video. "Everyday Americans need a champion, and I want to be that champion -- so you can do more than just get by -- you can get ahead."
Clinton often says there's no better time in history to be born female than the present. She's now betting that there is no better time for her to make history as the nation's first woman president.
The challenge for Clinton in breaking the "highest, hardest glass ceiling" that she described in 2008 is laying out a precise campaign vision that connects with all voters, while generating excitement and anticipation over the possibility of making history.
'Leaning in'
Clinton could be helped by an improving climate for women in politics.
There are historic numbers of women in Congress, and the idea of "leaning in" is a catch phrase among professional women. Meanwhile, the feminism label doesn't seem as charged as it once was -- people from Beyonce to actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt are identifying as feminist.

Hillary is precisely the wannabe the Founders guarded against---a power-monger with an army of acolytes, lying in wait to undo the govt that protects everyday Americans and our freedoms.
Seeing Hillary's "announcement" on a news segment was unnerving----arrogantly announcing her presidential whims amid struggling middle class people going about their business----was downright scary.
Because taxpayers are struggling and Hillary has a $2.5 billion spending "limit"...and no opponents as yet.
Americans should be asking---why did this political retread raise $2.5 billion to get a job worth about $2 million w/ perks and free plane rides?

Different times I would welcome a woman President but King Obama has destroyed much of the world that I feel only the male would be better in control. Hillary has screwed everything up as Secretary that she would be the weakest person.
It’s important to remember that Hillary is the Clinton running for the presidency b/c she has a vagina.
A big plus for her is——Hillary’s vagina is “like new”... “hardly used”... (as an eager used car salesman clinching the sale would say).
Oh sure, Bill rode ‘er around a few times, but then decided he wanted a younger, snazzier model.
Course nobody’s looked under Hillary’s hood lately, but Bill better not base his hopes on being the first First Lady w/ gonads.
That will not happen in 2015-16, for two reasons: Hillary will have all the limelight, and the Tea Party Quintumverate (Walker/Cruz/Paul/Rubio/Jindal) are going to spend the next six months competing to take HRC down, much more than trying to take each other down--they too learned the lessons of 2008.
If only women understood how much Hillary hates them precisely because they are female, they’d rip her to shreds with their bare hands.

I see it’s got “Pro-choice” on the bottom left. OK, so I get it now. Murdering babies is “feminist”. What is the law now, after 23 weeks a woman can’t get an abortion? I think it’s different in different states, in some it may be 26 weeks, but either way that’s around 5 to 6 months of pregnancy. And the left I assume wants abortion legal past those 6 months, all the way up to birth, all the way up till the babies head is sticking out so a Kermit Gosnell can snap its neck. If anyone can’t see the sick vile evil in that, then they are brain dead. Maybe Mr. Levitt should witness an abortion of a baby at full term, see if he still thinks it’s “feminist”. But what does he know, he never had to work a real job in his life. Another one of these Hollywood brats whose had his arse kissed since he was a kid, never had to worry about money or a job and he feels that gives him the unique qualifications to lecture us all about “feminism”.

Given that the woman is Hillary Clinton, I very much agree. It’s almost like voting a female McCain into office, only slightly more left leaning, and only about three years younger than McCain was in 2008, but that’s not saying much.
IDK, but if my wife killed our son or our daughter in the womb, I would vomit and be out of the marriage really fast. I will be honest, it makes it easy to realize how human a fetus is when it’s my child.
