Adding my congrats to the new tenants of Lord Stanley’s Cup, the Blackhawks, and all their FReeper fans. I get tears in my eyes at the giving of the Cup, no matter who gets it.
Was rooting for the Lightning because the Hawks killed all my favorite teams this season. Still, tonIght was evidence for sure that Chicago deserves this.
But don’t think the Cup didn’t love its year out here on the beach. Last year on Stanley Cup night I was on my balcony overlooking the sea and knowing the Cup was extremely close by. Somewhere. With a bunch of drunk tired hockey players. And at sunrise the first instagram of the Cup appeared on a lifeguard station indeed very close by. Parade in our backyard, the whole thing was just beautiful. My kids think the Stanley Cup is the coolest thing ever.
Have fun with that Cup, Chicago. Congrats!
Not too long ago, the home games weren’t even on TV since the late owner was mentally ill. And now, 3 titles! Amazing. Makes up for all the disappointment the Chi teams have delivered recently in the other sports.
