Drysdale was the best hitting pitcher of his era. I remember the year he hit 7 home runs and in a critical game the manager put Drysdale in as a PH. He got the hit of course. Glory Days for me as a young female teenager in LA.

Koufax was pitching in Philly, Drysdale was pitching the next night in NY, so he took an early train. When he arrived in NY, game in Philly was over and Koufax had pitched a no-hitter.
When told by a reporter of the feat, Big D deadpanned: "Did he win?"
