Reverence for the Second Amendment may very well be alive in the Empire State as a new report claims that nearly 90% of New York gun owners have not complied with the state’s new, draconian, anti-gun laws.
The deadline for compliance is fast approaching as New York residents have until April 15th to register weapons deemed “assault weapons” by the New York government.
According to a report from bearingarms.com, officials have waited for the estimated 1 million or so weapons to be registered, New York State Police officials are indicating that number of registrations may be as low as the 3,000 to 5,000 range.
The number is impossible to verify, however, as New York’s SAFE Act prohibits the release of registration figures.

Thats odd on the face of it.
We can guess, in a cynical way, that they may have been anticipating some embarrassment like this, but that would be a bit blatant even for them.
It seems there has been a spate of canoeing accidents.

5,000 out of 1 million isn't 90%, it's greater than 99%.
CT was embarrassed when the numbers came out how few guns were registered vs how many were thought to be in the state.
The New York capos didn’t want that embarrassment.
I have seen many for sale from New York on Gunbroker, some stating the SAFE Act was the reason.
Gun owners should flee the communist states.

That’s what it’s going to take - resistance by the individual. Remember the Bundy Ranch.
We just wanted to be left alone and live peaceable lives - we didn’t ask for this war; the tyrants came looking for trouble.
It is time now for the Jack Booted thugs to begin to enforce the illegal laws and really show how tyrannical this bunch of politicians really are. It isn’t going to be pretty. First, there will be limited resistance but after the first hundred I see some real problems within NY and other states insuring that this won’t happen within their environs.

Unfortunately, they have the mainstream media, and that’s a more powerful force than the Troopers and Sheriffs combined. It’s all about the show, not the enforcement of laws....obviously.

Problem of course is the ‘City’ and the smaller cities throughout the states that view gun ownership as unconscionable. Those are the populate centers that voted for Cuomo and zer0. By land area we win. And the great open areas are where the gun owners are and where local law enforcement is ignoring the UNSAFE act in droves
Exactly. Gun owners are making a statement by refusing to comply willingly. So now the bet goes to the Gestapo. Either they’ll fold, bluff, or start kicking down doors. If the former, they’ll look like fools. Gun owners will call any bluff. And if the doors start falling, the blood starts flowing.
