That ain’t a bobcat!...That, FRiends, is a Florida Panther, whose tail has been cut or bitten off in life. A “bob-tailed” panther IOW. Another example of bad journalism calling it a bobcat.

Awesome shot of Florida’s incredible elusive feline predator.

Whatever happened to its tail is unknown but it looks like it was severed in some manner.

If that’s a 4 to 5 foot shark it’s a mountain lion.

my guess is it somehow lost part of the tail cause it's waaay to long for a Bobcat

Who got its tail cut off.

I think you're right, that's a mountain lion.

Yeah, judging by the tail, it has to be a bobcat

The face is bobcat-like too.

I think the shark is smaller than the onlookers believe.

Neat nature story!

...a Florida Panther, whose tail has been cut or bitten off in life.

Thank you. I was wondering if that might be the case.

Maybe the shark won last time.

Land sharks and ocean hunting Mountain Lions fighting it out, that is one rough beach.

Judging by the tail and the clump of sargassum seaweed, the bobcat looks to be a bit over 40-43 inches, well within bobcat size range.

The photographer estimated 4 ft.... 4 foot sharks aren’t as big as they sound, the tailfin alone will be a hair under a foot in length.
