VIDEO BLOCKS of Reston Va: SCAM ALERT! Anyone heard of these people
self | 4-6-15 | C. Edmund Wright

Just found a charge on my AMEX each month from a company called Video Blocks, of Reston Virginia. 79 bucks a month. I've no idea who these people are. Something to do as a download service. I've never heard of them.

I called them of course, and their customer service center is a boiler room full of phonies handling complaints...I could hear other conversations in the back ground. They couldn't find me on their system, or tell me what I'm buying for 79 a month, or how long I've been a customer. Obviously a dodge.

Anyone know anything?

Dispute the charges with your CC company

If you don’t check you statement for these thieves every month you could be liable so watch your bills carefully.

Cancel all your cards AT LEAST once per year

I was not really asking what to do - I know that. -

I am disputing - and I’ve been AMEX customer for 25 years - Platinum and even Centurion Card member - so I’ve been down this road before.

This particular card is a business card, so there are many many charges each month - that’s why this one went undetected. So I’m sure I’m out some money - but I”m gonna stop it.

I am really wondering if anyone else has run into this company before.

I got one of those one, also $79. I caught it immediately because I have my card on my computer and called my bank and VIsa as soon as they ee open in the morning. It was a diet pill thing. The name of it was on the entry on the Visa list and I found its web site. It is just a one page scam with an order button. The last product I am interested in is diet pills. I got it taken off the card and the monthly aspect cancelled, too. Then I cancelled the card and got a new one. Once someone has your number others will have it to

Years ago I noticed some charges on my VISA for a dial-up internet connection and some purchase — in Russia.

I called the VISA company and they put ‘refuse to pay’ blocks on the items and erased them from my statement.

Don’t know about this particular scam, but our AMEX card has helped a couple of times when this has happened to us. They are very good at dealing with these things. Let them make the fix, if they think you need to get a new card they will suggest it to you, or as in our case, simply send you a new one.
