I’ve gotten so sick of this one-and-done thing, especially in basketball, and right now Kentucky is probably the worst example of it. But if someone like me calls for a return to the (long-ago) days when college athletes were (mostly) bona-fide students, we are called racists. (My apologies to that minority of college athletes who are legitimate - sometimes superior - students.)

I'm going WAY back - maybe the 30s. Maybe longer than that. I'm pretty sure that in the very early days, there was no recruiting like what we have now, and that most of the athletes were actually bona-fide students. But maybe I'm wrong; maybe the whole thing was a farce from the very beginning.
