Well they do but sometimes they are stuck on extra duty.You have a lot of guys and no food.If your pulling 24 hours they have to be fed.Many times their meals are left on the stove to run to fires.

I live in a rural area that depends on a volunteer fire department.
For a while, I volunteered for the Red Cross and met with those guys...on the scene.
You guys and gals rock!!
The strangest thing I pick up from this thread is the number of folks that don’t appreciate first responders. Like I said...strange.
As far as the video in the OP goes...this jackwagon needs to go to the city “powers that be” and get things changed if that is how he feels. Don’t shout at a bunch of firefighters on the street. That’s goofy.
Maybe the pay is good in some parts of the country. Maybe there are pensions that are comfy. But I don’t believe any one of us don’t go to a company (public or private) with good pay and good bennies.
If people are po’d...change it at a political level.
