Lexington, Mass. The place where the shot heard round the world was fired, the birthplace of the American Revolution, and now, the home of a high school whose administration has vetoed an American Pride dance theme because it is too American.
Students on the dance committee at Lexington High School voted on the theme for their junior/senior dance and chose American Pride, a seemingly appropriate theme for a school whose mascot is the Minuteman. Their decision was quickly vetoed, however, when the powers that be decided the theme was not inclusive enough.
Given the diverse demography of our community, Assistant Superintendent Carol Pilarski said, it was suggested by the advisers that the students come in maybe national pride theme so they could represent their individual nationalities.

Yes, cultural division not national unity and pride in where our current freedoms evolved from.
Captain John Parker wept!
Can’t wait for people to finally get fed up with these school marms and drive them back into the college ethnic studies programs from whence they came.
If the kids are immigrants, should not they be encouraged to have pride in this country?

Prime example of why the educational system in the country is so far left to be beyond hope. What next, remove the flags from the classroom (assuming they have not yet done so)?.
Muslims.

Superintendent of Schools Paul Ash read a prepared statement at Monday’s School Committee stating the name of the dance April 10 junior-senior dance at Lexington High School had not been changed despite much national attention.
“There has been a lot of media attention that doesn’t quite accurately reflect what happened here,” Ash said. Lexington High hosts four dances a year, the themes of which are determined by students. “The students wanted [America] to be the theme of the dance,” Ash said. “We are very proud to have the students select this as a theme.”

So, what are you saying Mr. Administrator?
That some of the local community aren’t American citizens?
Those kids need to hold a Footloose like rebellion.
Looks like the majority of the kids did rebel against the Assistant Administrator and persuaded the Superintendent to side with them against a handful of students who were against the name American Pride.
Compare and contrast with the Communist themed prom...
The same people that created the 1965 Immigration Act, that hate our Constitutional rights and want them replaced with gun control, hate crime, the muzzle of political correctness have been working to multi-culturalize the USA.
They want the ability to create a mixed national ethnic tinderbox that the media and politicians can then use to divide us and set on fire when the time is right. Nationalism and national unity works against their interests because it takes away their ability to pit us against each other.
This women is the epitome of the “Peter Principle”.
Maybe they could celebrate UN style.
Sounds like the America-haters got themselves all worked up while becoming “offended”.
Seems their commie teachers are not getting through to them after all.
