Really, the reason stereotypes emerge is that a statistically significant percentage of the group DO exhibit the stereotypical behavior. This results in people assuming the stereotype until the individual demonstrates that he does not fit the type.
> The term, stereotype, implies that youre falsly accusing them of exhibiting derogatory behavorial traits. Just watch the footage...: )

Good point and observation. When I do see a respectable black man working, attending church, or helping someone it puts a smile on my face. We have several black people in our church that are very loved and respected by a moslty white congregation. Guess what? We don’t view them like the Feral Fergusonites because they are kind, respectable, and hard working. We pick up several young black children from different parts of the city to bring them to church on Weds and Sunday. I think some of their parents look at us as babysitters so they can go do what they want to. We had a young black kid named Daniel who helped us clean up at church the other day. He is very quiet and reserved but you can tell he is smart and wants to learn. He showed us an award he won at school, i could see his whole demeanor change when we congratulated him and gave him encouragement. It was the first time he smiled the whole day. When we finished we asked him if he was ready to go home and he said no. I get the feeling things aren’t so good there so we make sure we give him every opportunity to come to church. We have also practically raised another black girl from the time she was 9 or 10 who went to live with a white family after her mother’s drug problem got way out of hand.
I guess the point I’m trying to make is that people don’t have to live the stereotype and that we really can all get along as long as they act respectable towards one another.
