The grunts were hood winked into fighting for a bunch of slave-owning poltroons on the idea of ''states rights''. What rights were those? The right to own slaves. The conscientious objector who does one valorous thing isn't on the same level as the man who risks his life and sometimes sacrifices it so the conscientious objector can object. In my book that puts him way above the objector.

Around ONE MILLION to 1.5 Million men served with the C.S.A. and all of them hoodwinked you say?
