They couldn't go to the pet store and just buy a 50lb. bag of Purina SnakeChow and be done with the hassle of raising rats?
Very unfortunate news for the child. Many are likely devastated on the sad update.

Hall says the child was treated at a hospital emergency room Dec. 30 for a fever and a rash. Two days later, the lethargic and feverish child was brought back and died in the emergency room. So the emergency room sent a sick child home to die.
Providing that the parents knew and told the ER that he had been bit this sounds like malpractice.
