Iran Letter Puts Cotton In National Spotlight (2 days old, but good)

WASHINGTON — Although he’s yet to deliver his maiden speech on the Senate floor, freshman Sen. Tom Cotton has everyone talking.

The Arkansas Republican was the lead signatory on Monday of a five-paragraph letter directed at the leaders of Iran warning them that a nuclear deal under negotiation with President Barack Obama could be dead as soon as he leaves office in two years.

Either these senators were trying to be helpful to the Iranians or harmful to the commander-in-chief in the midst of high-stakes international diplomacy.
