Images of David Mackenzie High School where I graduated, class of 1957 on the west side of Detroit:

It was a magnificent building constructed by legal immigrant craftsmen in the Art Deco style. The tile work was beautiful. The site where it was located is now a field of weeds.

Michigan central depot use to be great when trains were the way to travel...my brother worked there and in the 70 or 80’s it was Amtrak and they moved out and went to Philadelphia The employees were told they could take any furniture they wanted...All old and from the opening of the Depot in 1913. It was cheaper to buy all new furniture in Philly. than ship the furniture from Detroit....I have some beautiful pieces he gave me...if you check the web site on the depot, all the floors have been vandalized but a few of the rooms still show a small semblance of furniture..
