Where were the manager and staff of McDonald’s?? This took place inside the restaurant, they couldn’t have been more than a few feet away; why don’t they wade in with brooms and whatever else they can find? Where the hell were the adults?? How anyone can watch this and not only do NOTHING but cheer this mayhem on is beyond me.
Manager and staff are about the same age these days.
Well, I gotta tell you, as an urban high school teacher who has seen many black girls fights, it would be crazy for one or two people to attempt to break something like that up.
Those girls were in a frenzy. If anyone intervened, the girls would turn on the peacemaker. I've seen that many times.
So then the peacemaker has a choice: start throwing hard punches, or get involved in a squalid wrestling match. And you start throwing punches, guess who's going to jail. And if you don't, you risk serious injury. Because you'll lose that fight.
The only way civilians can break up such a fight is by a coordinated action, where the peacemakers outnumber the fighters. And that's tough to do in the shock of the moment.
Of, course, if the child being beating is your own, all bets are off.
