What these people need is a *patriotic* organization willing to stand up for their rights. Ah-hem.

These people are country club Republicans, pillars of the community. What *patriotic* organizations do you think they want camped out in their front lawn? Camo-wearing militia guys waving Gadsden flags? Guys dressed like Ben Franklin with tri-corner hats? How about some skinheads with neck tattoos? Maybe the local Klan can make an appearance to stick up for their rights?

Here's who won't be showing up; white, middle-aged men wearing Dockers and Polo shirts. Those are their neighbors and these guys are all having serious, sit-down chats with their teenage sons right now. "Look out the window! You see what happens? Don't be a dumbass like Parker!"

No. What this family needs is a time machine.

You know what gets me? It's always like the walking fuglies. Don't they have any people that know how to put an outfit together?

Sounds like the protesters’ death threats outside the family home is a “hostile environment” and a more credible physical threat than a foul song sung on a bus.

Will there be legal prosecutions of the lynch mob?

Yes, the days of ‘privacy’ are over. ‘Big Brother’ is actually now watching over you right on top of your very dear friend’s lap.

I grew up when the only thing to watch on TV were ABC, NBC, CBS, and PBS. That’s it!

You either talked to someone face to face, be near a wall-phone, or drop a quarter in something called a “phone booth”!!!!

I live in Dallas County, and am familiar with the neighborhood this kid's parents live in. It's thoroughly infested with rich white liberals. I wouldn't be a bit surprised if both his parents are card carrying Obamaphiles.

Given what their kid did, there's not a chance any deep pocketed liberal outfit will help them.

Maybe you don't live here. That area of Dallas is absolutely crawling with rich white liberals. I'm sure there are some country club Repukes living there, but I'd almost bet this kid's parents gave money and votes to Obama.

I was stopped in traffic the other day and actually spotted a pay phone at the side of the road. I highly doubt it's in service, but it did grab my attention. I felt like I'd traveled back in time for a moment.

yeah, unbelievable when you think back on it, many kids (and ‘adults’) today have no idea what it was like driving around looking for a “phonebooth”. You should have taken a pic of it with your ‘smartphone’.

Yep. Because of necessity, we were also pretty good at finding them.

Times move on, and older technologies surrender to the new. I watched the older members of my family experiencing those same transitions while I was growing up. They accepted the changes, but I think the pace was way too brisk for their taste.

I'm pretty sure my dad's parents kept a rotary dial telephone in their house until my granddad passed in '92. He also loved manual shift transmissions. Even his 80s era Ford pickup had a stick shift.
