Bill, a friend from years ago was carrying an “A” average as a college sophomore. One spring evening he was have a beer in a local pub when a bully began to call him out and occasionally poke him with the butt of a pool cue.
Bill went home and returned with a hunting knife and waited outside the bar for the bully to emerge.
The bully died from a single stab wound. Bill copped a manslaughter plea and did four and a half years of an eight year sentence.
Instead of a bright future and possibly a career as a US Navy officer, Bill's life was more or less destroyed.
