They know what it means to be free and are enthusiastic about gun ownership. They do not own or think about guns in an American 2nd Amendment kind of way. First, the Swiss government requires ownership, second, the guns are to repel foreign invaders not counterpoise their own tyrannical government, and third, guns are not usually even stored on the owners' premises.

While I have known only a few Swiss citizens, they all stored their military rifles at home.
