I drove in this morning, praying all the way. It was ice, ice, ice on the highways, thick white layers of it and at 9 degrees nothing would melt it. I was doing 20 mph at some parts, where we normally do 70. In the elevator from the parking garage, I told a woman I needed to go straight to the chapel when we got inside, to thank God for getting us there safely. She agreed and said she wound up in a ditch yesterday trying to get to work. The cafeteria offered free breakfast to everyone who braved the elements to get there yesterday and today. I found out about it too late.
I had my car’s braking/traction system pulse the brakes twice this morning. Nothing scary, but small slides.

OMGosh. We picked up the groom and he was so normal acting I didn’t think he even showed a reaction. He and my son went in first so they could see her reaction. She just stared then started crying. She ran around to get to me and just hugged me for a few minutes then ran into the ladies’ room to fix her face. We went out for a late dinner, but it was so l ate I just started to crash. Been feeling sick overnight. Too much going on I guess.

Oh-my brit neighbor said she can’t find the nail buffing powder any more, but she just substituted a jar of buffing cream and it works just as well. I’m nearly out of the powder, so I guess I’ll get the cream, too. Both cream and chamois buffer are available at Sally Beauty Supply online, for a total cost less than $15.00...
