Move over, Peter Parker. It’s time for a black Spider-Man.

—Liam Neeson in the starring role.-—

Every Liam Neeson film seems the same nowadays. Not that I’ve seen any of them, just judging from the commercials:

Liam. Neeson. Is...STALKING GUYS WHILE ARMED.

Rated R.

I guess “cultural appropriation” is a one way street.

Both DC and Marvel decided on a kind of quota program for their characters years ago. It become more important than the stories. You just had to accept that they were going to kill off/retire beloved characters so that they could make their political statement.

And when the liberal agenda became the focus and not the stories and the characters they drove away a lot of readers (myself among them about a decade ago). The political correctness went up, and their sales figures went down. Today it is news when a title breaks 100,000 in sales when in the 80s they were considered "in trouble" if they fell below 200,000.

Hey, it's art and entertainment. If you can drum up investors to enable you to produce SpiderBro' vision more power to you. If your hero displays classical virtues, and you tell the tail artfully and compellingly, I will applaud.

And if I should remake Shaft, starring Jason Statham, I can expect the same level of openminded evaluation, right?

All I ask is equal consideration, not equal outcome.

Peter Parker is white, and so are Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield, the actors who played him. So how exactly would this work?

Um . . . you audition a black guy, put him in a blue and red spandex costume, and start filming. What's the matter, don't black people show up on film?

I submit that virtually no one would be making a big deal about casting non-white actors in traditonally white roles, if it weren't for the libtards claiming this as redress for some perceived injustice or whatever it is they gabble on about. Seriously, guys, this is nowhere near as edgy as you think it is.
