Oh, you have done it now! And I salute you, sir. I have made similar comments here and been eaten alive. Well, it doesn’t matter much at this point. The last vestiges of free speech died a couple of days ago when the internet became a “public utility”. Of course, you and I know that’s called Communism but no need to upset those at ease. How dare you point out so succinctly that any GOP candidate would be better than what we got. It’s been real. They’ll most likely ban me now. What’s the name of this site again?
The right to make any comment, however repugnant it may be to another person, has been protected with our blood and treasure and with the zeal of the nation up until a few short generations ago. Now, free speech has become a crime. If you don’t happen to agree with your moderators on a given site, you become a ——bot; you fill in the blank. And now we see Communism at it’s best come into play. It happened sooner than I thought possible. Everybody is suspicious of everyone else now and see a conspiracy under every post. Please post a list of the offenders so they can defend themselves. If not, post a list of acceptable candidates, catch words, viewpoints, and “feelings” for this site and save us all a lot of intrigue.
Well, I don’t really care. I have been flamed, threatened to be “zotted” dozens of times for disagreements, personally attacked, called a liberal commie, told to leave and never come back. I never report anyone, perhaps I did once. Doesn’t bother me.
Point is, not everyone here is going to agree with everyone else. If we did, it wouldn’t be a healthy website. As for the whole free speech thing on forums, it’s kinda like this: lots of people become offended over words, swear words, etc. Keeping the dialogue clean, and wholesome is taking the high ground. Which people admire. There are sites out there that you can basically say anything you want. I’ve even seen a website where racists are allowed to spout the most evil garbage and hateful things you have ever seen towards our dark skinned brethren. Disgusting, no one wants to go to places like that. It was the most hateful website I have ever seen. I don’t mean to compare it to FR. However, dialogue deteriorating into unintelligible hate rants is not productive, and turns a lot of people off to your cause. There’s literally no reason for it. But bans for opinions on GOP([e]whatever) candidates I do disagree with.
Anyways, you’re dead spot on for “vanity” posts like this. I go a few months just lurking every once in awhile, then something breaks and I’m back discussing.
If the author of this post cannot pony up names, posts, dates, etc. Then the post should be deleted. Or be marked as a general warning to “watch your six” around here, that there likely (confirmed) are paid trolls, shills, and malcontents here to spread discourse. Divide and conquer. Standard covert psy-ops. It’s naive to think that there aren’t, as FR has helped break some big scandals in recent American history. There are also important conservatives, liberals, commies, capitalists, etc. Watching, reading, and I suspect, even engaging freepers on a daily basis. So seriously, watch your six.
