It appears likely Mayor Rahm Emanuel will face off against Cook County Commissioner Jesus Chuy Garcia in a runoff election for Chicago Mayor on April 7.
With 71 percent of precincts reporting, Emanuel had 46 percent, shy of the 50 percent plus one vote needed to avoid the runoff. Garcia had 34 of the vote, separating him from the rest of Emanuels challengers and putting him in position for the April runoff.
Trailing Garcia is businessman Willie Wilson in third with 10 percent, Alderman Robert Fioretti in fourth with 7 percent and William Dock Walls was in last with 3 percent.

They will likely find thousands of votes for Emanuel under the stairs in a church basement by the end of the week.
LOL. Many people don’t know that Rahm was a ballerino.
That explains a lot and why he and Hussein are so “tight”.
I’m rootin’ for Chuy!
Sure is embarrassing to Rahm to not win outright.
But, based on these numbers, 46% to 34%, Garcia will have to get the overwhelming majority of other voters in the runoff to be elected mayor. Possible of course, but a tall order .
I wonder if Rahm is despised and hated by enough voters to oust him. Meaning that Rahm would not pick up many votes in a runoff? We’ll see.
Of course, given Chicago’s history of elections, would not be surprised if Rahm wins re-election.
But, given all the attention we are supposed to pay to identity politics and minority rights and all that, isn’t it racist to oppose Garcia in his quest to become the first Latino mayor of Chicago???? By liberal’s own criteria, isn’t it racist to re-elect Rahm????
I’ll bet Chelsea Handler is SO jealous!
Oh, wait, it’s not THAT Chuy . . .
Rahm vs Jesus comin’ up.
Emanuel needs to change his name to “Emanuelz”, an automatic 10 point increase in his chances.
