Debbie's damage control

Wasserman Schultz’s office said she’d switch positions on medical pot if a donor took back his criticism, emails show.

Democratic National Committee Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz’s office offered to change her position on medical marijuana if a major Florida donor recanted his withering criticism of her, according to emails obtained by POLITICO.

The proposal to Orlando trial lawyer John Morgan was straightforward: retract critical statements he made to a reporter in return for Wasserman Schultz publicly backing his cannabis initiative that she had trashed just months earlier. Morgan declined the offer with a sharp email reply sent to a go-between, who described the congresswoman as being in a “tizzy.”

John Morgan is a blooming idiot if he thinks his “medical marijuana” initiative will pass in 2016. It only got as close as it did because of it being not a presidential election in 2014

I'll take that bet. I don't think the fact that it was a non-presidential year helped the medical mj supporters. Don't young people turn out in better numbers in presidential elections vs non?

Opposition to medical mj is highly concentrated in the oldest age group. Support is strongest in the younger groups. The numbers from the FL exit polls are striking =>

Ages ==> Yes / No

65y + => 38% / 62%

50-64 => 58% / 42%

40-49 => 63% / 37%

30-39 => 68% / 32%

25-29 => 75% / 25%

18-24 => 83% / 17%

Sure it helps to have it in an off-election year. They needed 60% to pass it. The more people that show-up to the polls the greater the hurdle needed to pass it. It only got as close as it did as not as many folks voted as normally do during presidential election years.

The more people that show-up to the polls the greater the hurdle needed to pass it.

Not if it is the supporters who turn out in relatively greater numbers. Recall that the measure was just 2% short of the needed 60%.

Here are the % of voters in FL by age group in 2012 and 2014. Note there's a double whammy at work against the antis => 1. Young voters are likely to make up a greater % in 2016 v 2014. 2. Due to the laws of nature, voters most opposed are being replaced by voters who are strongest in support.

I think her attempted rant against Rudy, with a sideswipe at Walker will be quickly overshadowed by this little bit of graft.

...lawyer John Morgan“No,” Morgan responded. “She is a bully. I beat bullies up for a living.”

Counselor Morgan hit the nail on the head....Debbie Wassermann Schulz is the epitome of Bully.

John Morgan is as ugly on the inside as Debbie is on the outside.

In this case, he did the right thing by declining her offer, and then making it public. Good on him.

Maybe the old saw, 'it takes a thief to catch a thief' is in order here.

Beave,
A slut is a promiscuous woman or prostitute.
I find it difficult to believe this hag could make a dime a
as a prostitute.
She’d have starved to death,.
She is simply a sucker fish feeding off the public dole.

Just in =>

Wasserman Schultz called the allegation "outrageous" and said the purported deal, reported by Politico is false.
