Really, got to be politically correct. what an asinine waste of money and time. Why not rename the United States to some Indian name to appease the goose stepping libtards.
I agree it is politically correct pandering. My family and I lived in Alaska for four years. Alaskans do call the mountain Denali ( nobody up there calls it McKinley) so the name change would only be a formality nobody really cares about anyway.
India just confused the hell out of their own people by trying to change all the place names to be politically correct. I know a 23 year old girl who still calls her hometown Bombay.
The Redskin States?
Since I have been in Alaska, I have not heard anyone refer to the mountain as “Mount McKinley”. Everyone says “Denali”. I suspect that many younger people do not even know that Mt. McKinley is the official name (Or who McKinley was). The name “Denali” has been in popular use for years and among climbers for decades.
This is unlike what they did in Washington, changing the name of Puget Sound to “Salish Sea”. AFAIK most people (Except those afflicted with extreme political correctness) still use the name given the area by George Vancouver.
