Back when I was 21 years old and after a 3 week drinking binge; I knew my life was going nowhere. I fell to my knees in the bathroom one morning and prayed to God to guide me. After praying, I noticed the newspaper the old man had left laying there after one of his “reading” sessions. The first word that stuck out at me was the word “tax”(don't remember what the article was about); and I decided to try to get a temp job at the Tax Department filing returns, and maybe go back to school. The Tax Department wasn't hiring, but they referred me to another department. That department wasn't hiring full time, but hired me on a per-diem basis to do some clerical work. Within 2 months I got a full time job there, and signed up to take an entry level IT exam.

Twenty Seven years later I still work there, and now manage an IT production shop. I met my wife there; and we have a wonderful son and a beautiful 8 year old granddaughter. I believe without a doubt God answered my prayer that morning back in 1988 (Jan 21,1988 to be exact). Every night when I pray; I thank Him for kicking my ass into gear that day.

God exists and He answers prayers. Sometimes the answer is no. Other times we are too stubborn, proud, or ignorant to hear His answer. But He always answers.
