When President Obama was reelected in 2012, MSNBC was “leaning forward” and smiling wide as Obama 2.0 propelled it to record ratings and a firm grasp on the No. 2 spot in cable news.

Over two years later, the network has fallen backwards. January ratings revealed double-digit declines compared with January, 2014 in all ratings measurements. During the day, MSNBC was down 20 percent in viewers and 37 percent in the advertising-coveted 25-54 demo. In primetime, it fell 23 percent in viewers and 39 percent in demo.

Does this mean that Rachel will no longer double-over as her alter-ego “Chris Hayes”?

It’s nothing more than getting more Libs to pretend to be moderate but still pimp Hillary.

When you only have 9 viewers, the loss of even one represents a double digit decline.

No mention of the race pimp, Sharpton. I assume he's still yapping on MSNBC? I don't suppose he would be replaced. That would be racist.

“propelled it to record ratings and a firm grasp on the No. 2 spot in cable news.”

Huh? First I’ve heard of that.

If you asked them for the statistical data....state by state....I think the picture is probably more dismal. There might be a fair amount of viewers from New York City and a dozen urban areas....but beyond that...almost nothing.

I’d almost go and suggest that they repackage everything from 8AM to 6PM to include ‘how-to’ shows on distilling spirits, handling haunted houses, and patio furniture projects. For the 6AM to 8AM period....they need a total rebuild from the ground up.

Presently, unless something happens shortly....I’d say the network folds up by 2016 and sold off to some Saudi prince.

Just run “Caught on Camera” and “Lockup” 24x7. It’ll produce better ratings than Rowan Farrow.

MSNBC suffers lowest ratings in a decade
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3254188/posts
4FEB2015

MSNBC registered its lowest full-day rating in nearly a decade on Tuesday, a devastatingly low benchmark that shows just how severe the network’s decline has become.

The liberal cable news network drew an average of 55,000 viewers in the all-important 25-to-54 year-old demo on Tuesday, its lowest full-day rating since July 2005, according to Nielsen ratings provided by an industry source. CNN had nearly three times as many viewers in the demo; Fox News nearly five times as many.

That low reflects a more general decline in recent years.

NBC just made a gazillion dollars on the Super Bowl. There’s enough table scraps left over to keep msdnc running for another year of misdirection and obfuscation.

Maybe MessNBC can bring Brian Williams over from the mother ship and bolster their credibility..??..

Seems like the executives are operating under the impression that if they re-arrange some deck chairs that some of the staterooms might remain dry when they go down.
