I wouldn’t be surprised that the Cleveland Browns management asked him to go into treatment, and he accepted as a condition of him staying with the team.

Wouldn't be surprised if the team forced this on him, given all the embarrassment he caused for the franchise. Would explain the timing of the announcement (just after the SB).

I'm typically not a fan of "forced" rehab. The desire to change must come from within. Hopefully he has the desire to come out of this a changed man, or his pro football career might never get off the ground.

If he makes it in the NFL it’ll be a punt returner. He will never make it as a quarterback.
