I liked David Suchet as Poirot in tv series at least - can imagine him, all around, as much more of a Beligan Detective, much better portrayal of Poirot’s character per Christie’s novels about him. Ustinov wasn’t the right actor for this - he would’ve done better were Poirot a Russian Bear, lol.

I agree regarding Joan Hickson as the best one for Miss Marple character.

David Suchet totally defines Poirot as far as I’m concerned. My wife and I have enjoyed every one of his mysteries.

It's a Childhood thing and has nothing to with who is the Best as far as Christie, it is subjective to the individual, to hell with critics, so for me it's Rutherford and for you it's Hickson. So smile we can both have our best Miss Marple.

Oui, mon ami! Am a huge Agatha Christie fan. Got almost all the novels & short stories. Couple of months ago, to my delight, there was a DVD set of 5 Christie movies for sale here for $10; luckily I bought the last one! :D

I love Rutherford’s movies as Miss Marple and own them on DVD. I merely meant that of all the Miss Marple roles, Hickson was the only one true to Agatha Christie’s little old lady from a village.

Geraldine was way off because of the liberal influence in some of the shows. I don’t know much about the lady, but I am assuming she was a big lib.
