I hear that they won a Super Bowl a long time ago

That’s right, Broadway Joe and the Jets won the first named Super Bowl. Although it was the third game, of the series, the first two in 1967 + ‘68 were called the “Championship Game”.

The game, played on January 12, 1969, at the Orange Bowl in Miami, Florida, is regarded as one of the greatest upsets in American sports history.

J-E-T-S ! ! !

Helped, in no small part, by Broadway Joe’s mob connections. Those were the days.

I’ll have to look that up; I don’t believe it just because someone says it on the internet. You mean the football team, the NY Jets?

Now the NFL claims to have invented the term “Super Bowl.”
If you haven’t paid their licensing fee then you have to say “The Big Game” or some such.
