Police in Georgia are searching for a retired couple who disappeared after going to purchase a car from a seller they contacted online.

Telfair County Sheriff Chris Steverson says they have identified a suspect in the investigation of June and Bud Runion.
Steverson says there are two active warrants out for Ronnie “Jay” Adrian Towns: one for making false statements to investigators and the other for criminal attempt to commit theft by deception.
Sheriff Steverson says Ronnie Towns is 28 and around 6 feet tall.
“We were interested in who last had phone contact with the Runions, and this individual did,” says Steverson. “We interviewed Mr. Towns early on in the investigation and the info he provided did not corroborate with our investigation.”
On Sunday, Steverson said they have identified a suspect in the investigation.
Steverson said there are two active warrants out for Ronnie "Jay" Adrian Towns.
One warrant is for making false statements to investigators; the other for
criminal attempt to commit theft by deception.
I buy and sell on craigslist but some years ago I had a very unnerving meeting with a man wanting to buy the item I had listed....
Something was really off and my gut instincts screamed that I was in danger. The guy was pis*ed that I had brought my large dog along with me and that she was actually able to stick her whole body out the window of my truck. He wouldn’t close the deal and kept walking around me making me very nervous. He didn’t seem the least interested in the item at all.I finally walked towards the drivers door, opened it and abruptly said I had to go as I was on a scheduled trip and got outta there. He didn’t buy the item but I didn’t care.
When I got to my destination and spoke with a family member telling them what had happened I got a lecture on the fact that I was not familiar with the area I had just been in and that was a problem. Apparently there had been many women who had gone missing in the area over the last several years. My family convinced me to contact the police in that area and give them all the details about the guy and his car and name, etc. I don’t know who that guy was but I believe he was dangerous.
Needless to say- I am more careful because of that incident.
I hope they find this couple safe.

I sell on craigslist quite often, big ticket items, forklifts, tractors that sort of thing. Rule # 1, no email, telephone calls only. I have them come to my home to look at the merchandise, cash only, no checks no paypal. I have never had a problem.
