BOSTON —Winter is making up for lost time. A storm that is potentially historic is now in the forecast, according to the National Weather Service.

It’s winter...and it SNOWED!!! HOLY S**T!!!
1. Rip a page out of a small note book.
2. Fold ripped page in half,
3. Fold in half again,
4. Now tear the folded corner off and save it you'll need it later,
5. Unfold the note book page,
Put your index finger through the hole, covering your knuckles,
6. Wipe butt exit with index finger,
7. Grab paper protecting knuckled to wipe index finger,
8. Take the little corner you were supposed tho save/keep and use it to clean under your index fingernail,
9. Put all the paper in the toilet then flush.

Grew up there and loved the winter - and the snow.
Not so much when the plow truck came by and threw all the iced up, packed street snow up into the driveway I just shoveled.

With 3k vehicles standard on Rt. 128. This is not Buffalo, which is has far less pop. density.
I was working at a dairy farm north of Boston, processing and delivering milk. Got up early Tues. and shoveled for a long time just to get to the street, but my 67 Pontiac Catalina with 15'' studded snow tires could not go anywhere. Finally made to work that night, and helped process milk with the pasteurizer who lived across the street.
We were the first milk truck out on the road the next morning, those 10.00 tires going thru the snow well. Most stores were services every other day with milk, and so I was a day late. My first stop usually got 20 cases gallons (4 to a cs.) and 15 cases of half gal. (9 per cs.) but the owner asked for all the milk i could give him. I had loaded extra and gave him 90 cases total.
Then he asked me to do him a favor, and get 100 loaves of wonder bread from the factory a mile away, which i did as we owed him a favor for loaning us a truck once. But this was a milk truck, nor a bread truck with racks, and the loaves got flatter and flatter.
But it did not matter, as the people bought them like hot cakes. The trip took an hour, and the owner said he has 10 cases of milk left.
People were overall friendly, many likely discovering their neighbors as more than mere passing acquaintances, and the skies were crystal clear.
We played catch-up most of the rest of the week, which had begun with the dairy having a surplus of milk for its own 35-+ cows, but ending up buying thousands of gallons from the co-op.
Thank God we could do it, but ice cream (which i graduated to delivering) melts, and souls live forever, with the Lord or in Hell, where they can only wish for snow.

Yeppers...no heat when it's fifteen above out can be a real b*tch. Of course, the media tells everyone to fire up the generators (like everyone has one) and to download their station's 'app' to their personal device for the latest storm updates.
Elderly people have no idea WTF they are talking about...
I was visiting my son in NH for Thanksgiving.
Drove right into the teeth of that storm.
My son lost power an hour before we got there so we picked up batteries, an LED lantern, and water, in the middle of the storm. No shortages on any of that stuff like there’d be in CNY.
Judging by the number of generators we heard running for the four days he was without power, it’s not an uncommon occurrence.
Was just funnin ya’ll, but I feel you.
And it’s COLD, too! Surely this is sign of global warming, aliens, the apocalypse, or all three.
I live around 10 miles outside of Boston, the ground has been clear all winter.
This sucks, My 30 year old 2-stroke Toro is starting to lose it....
Batteries!!!! and Candles!!! and Jim Beam!!!!
