“Ok great. So the only thing we know as fact is that some balls that the Patriots brought to the game were found at some point during that game to be under-inflated. “

I think I can agree with that. But given that the temperature conditions would cause about a one psi drop in pressure, it can be deduced that most footballs would be ‘under-inflated’ during play.

But we’re not allowed to deduce anything.

Hmmm.

Brady has his balls inflated to 12.5 psi. Colts know he likes them low.

Colts inflate their balls to 13.5 psi. After the game starts and the temperature caused the balls to deflate about one psi, the Colts cry foul! Balls are checked.

Lo and Behold, only the Pats balls are found ‘out-of-spec’.

Who said that?

Well, we can deduce, but that doesn’t mean it’s fact.

That’s just a rumor. The Colts balls might have been found to be under-inflated, or maybe they weren’t examined at all. We don’t know anything at all about the Colts balls, because they NFL hasn’t issued a press release saying anything factual about the Colts’ balls, only the Patriots balls. And even then, the press release hasn’t said very much, other than they are investigating. That’s all we know so far. Anything else is conjecture and rumor.

That is what I said. Thank you.

Not making excuse for Bill Belichick, as TangledUpInBlue said in post #1, the Patriots head coach does not deserve my benefit of the doubts. And the fault is not mine.

I am just saying Bill was VERY CAREFUL of what he said during his presser.

Imagine how ecstatic the rest of the NFL teams must be to know that, if you just let a little air out of the football, you can go to a Super Bowl every other year!

Think of it. Brady's playing in his 13th season, and he's starting in his 6th Super Bowl. That's an average of a Super Bowl every two years for well over a decade.

And he did it by letting .2 psi out of the game balls. That's what these nitwits are trying to sell us.

LMAO!!!!

I seem to remember the refs stopping play before the snap, to change out the kicking ball to the team’s passing ball in the first series of downs.

It striked me as being odd then.

Obviously, anybody handling the ball would know the difference.

Any pass convergence would rely on an accurate pass, with an accurate assessment of the football’s properties. It will pass differently at different inflation pressures.

It will punt and kick differently.

Anybody handling the ball would have discerned the difference as a pro.

Telling as to what? Telling as to how ridiculous you are in thinking this is serious. Not filling a parking meter and getting away with it is about how silly this is. 28-0. Clearly no advantage. The head of officials at Jerry Jones party bus. Advantage. Yet here you are squeeling about this as if it’s horrible and perhaps the worst thing ever done. And yes, it’s telling when someone thinks a thing that gave no advantage is important and one that did give advantage isn’t.
